Women Lead Africa’s Clean Energy Future: Student Energy Cohort 6 Wraps Up in February 2026

The Student Energy Career Training Program (SECT) – Cohort 6: Women in Energy Africa successfully concluded in February 2026. This 30-week, fully online program trained 25 young African women (aged 18–30) to lead the continent’s energy transition.

Participants gained specialized skills in renewables, project management, leadership, mentorship, and hands-on experience with top energy organizations. In partnership with Enel Foundation and supported by RES4Africa, it tackled barriers women face in the sector and highlighted Africa’s expected 3.3 million
green jobs by 2030 — with women driving change.

This directly echoes PRISTINE VET Objective 3: increasing women’s participation in green energy education. It shows growing momentum for gender-inclusive VET and renewables training across Africa, complementing our efforts in West Africa through scholarships, internships, and joint workshops.
